Karl Rove was wrong.
Dean Barnett was wrong.
I was wrong.
Not only did the Democrats take over the House, they took the Senate as well. And I accepted it with same quiet dignity that "Frodric Fronkensteen" accepted with his inability to bring his creation to life in the movie
Young Frankenstein. For those of you who have seen the movie you know what I'm talking about.
So what now? How much different will the Middle East look as a result? How soon will the U.S. complete it's "phased re-deployment?" i.e. withdrawl from Iraq. The Democrats are already talking about it.
al Qaeda got the memo...While Democrats harped on the President's failure in Iraq, our enemies applauded and realized they can in fact influence our elections. How long do you think it'll be before CNN broadcasts videotapes given to them by jihadists in Iraq of the "phased re-deployment" of U.S. troops?
If the jihadists didn't get the message earlier, they'll definitely get it then. The U.S. has no staying power as we got bored with this Iraq war and historically any other war that lasted longer than three years.
The jihadists also realized they don't actually have to win many military victories, if any. All they really have to do is continue to provide video propaganda to CNN. After all, CNN will air anything provided it's "newsworthy" and election seasons always help in the justification by the editorial board but not always necessary.
The real loser of this year's elections are the American people and the West.
I will continue to hold my breath in the hopes the Democrats have a winning plan for Iraq and dealing with jihadism.
All I've heard so far are slogans...
Honestly, I really dont think its going to make too much of a difference. The Dems aren't completely stupid and they'll figure out very quickly that handing Iraq over to Iran isn't in American interests.
