Unless you live in a hole in the ground (or are hiding from the good guys in a hole) you know that the Iraqis hung Saddam Hussein.
I hope that before he died, he had the same fear in his twisted heart that he instilled in those people he had murdered, raped, mutiliated and tossed away in mass graves.
"Now he [Saddam Hussein] is in the garbage of history," said Jawad Abdul-Aziz. Saddam murdered Abdul-Aziz's father, three brothers and 22 cousins.
According to Saddam's attorneys, "the world will know that Saddam Hussein lived honestly, died honestly, and maintained his principles." Yes, Saddam honestly murdered whomever he wanted, honestly threatened those in the region to destroy them including Kuwait, Israel, Iran and given a little bit of leeway, even Saudi Arabia. Yes, Saddam honestly maintained his principles of stifling dissent or uprisings through mutiliation, torture and mass executions, but it doesn't justify the evil he perpetrated.
Dostoevsky wrote in the 19th century saying "people talk sometimes of bestial cruelty, but that's a great injustice and insult to the beasts; a beast can never be so cruel as a man, so artistically cruel."
Thanks Zach. I found it in the chapter before the Grand Inquisitor titled "Rebellion." It's where Ivan tells Alyosha about all the unspeakable horrors committed against children, hence, I thought it appropriate for the ex-President of Iraq who is in stable condition after his recent hanging...

Good Dostoevsky quote. We give animals a bad name when we say that we "acted like animals"
